BIP’s Preparatory School is designed to build bright futures—one child at a time—by providing a rigorous, personalized, and whole-child educational experience. Rooted in our mission to create equitable and inclusive learning environments, our elementary program empowers learners to grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing strong character and confidence.

Instruction is guided by our academic vision of meeting each learner exactly where they are. Upon entry, students participate in research-based pre-assessments that allow our educators to understand their current academic levels and learning profiles. This information is used to create individualized learning pathways, ensuring every child is supported, challenged, and celebrated for their unique strengths.

Our classrooms reflect a mastery-based approach to learning. Students are encouraged to deeply understand concepts before moving forward, fostering a growth mindset and reducing anxiety around grades and testing. Assessment is purposeful and non-threatening, allowing learners to demonstrate knowledge without fear or pressure.

Within the Preparatory School, learners engage in:

  • Rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, and interdisciplinary studies
  • Small-group and personalized instruction based on ongoing progress monitoring
  • Hands-on, experiential learning that makes learning meaningful and relevant
  • STEAM exploration and inquiry-based learning experiences
  • Performing arts and creative expression woven throughout the school day
  • Foreign language exposure that supports communication and global perspectives
  • Character development and social-emotional learning embedded into daily routines

Our elementary learners are known, valued, and respected. A strong emphasis is placed on character, belonging, and community—ensuring students feel safe, supported, and confident in who they are. Learners are encouraged to take academic risks, reflect on their growth, and develop leadership skills rooted in kindness, responsibility, empathy, and resilience.

Through strong family-school partnerships and community-based learning opportunities, students learn that education extends beyond the classroom. Our Elementary Program prepares learners to become confident, capable, and compassionate leaders ready to thrive in an ever-changing world.
